Top Performing Schools

When you have kids – or are planning to one day – what schools your new home is zoned for can have a huge impact on your decision. Thankfully, Shearwater is a part of the St. Johns County School District (SJCSD), which consistently receives an A-rating and is ranked in the top 10 districts in the country.

The SJCSD is currently building a brand new K-8 campus in Shearwater’s latest phase. This brand new school will be built on 26 acres and will hold approximately 1,500 students. The new school is planned to open for the 2024-2025 school year. Additionally, Timberlin Creek Elementary School, is located at the entrance to Shearwater and conveniently connected to the community by a paved pathway. Separated from street traffic, the multi-purpose path allows children to safely walk or bike to school. The public schools for which Shearwater is zoned include: Timberlin Creek Elementary School, Switzerland Point Middle School, and Bartram Trail High School.

Jacksonville

All of the excitement and opportunity of a major metropolis is just 20 minutes up the road in Jacksonville. It’s a dynamic city with major employment hubs, an international airport, a vibrant culinary scene, shopping, and a host of other things to do.

St. Augustine & Florida’s Historic Coast

Just a 20 minute ride to the coast takes you back in time to the historic seaside community of St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city. Blending centuries-old ambiance with thoroughly modern shops, restaurants and more, it’s the perfect staycation destination. Must-sees include the iconic Castillo De San Marcos National Monument fortress, Lightner Museum, and the historic downtown district. Shearwater is similarly convenient to the coastal communities of Florida’s historic coast, including Ponte Vedra Beach, and all the world-class golf and recreational opportunities that makes this one of the country’s top vacation destinations.
