Summer is here! What are you going to do to keep the kids entertained while they’re out of school? There are tons of things to do in St. Augustine, Florida and the area surrounding Shearwater. Take advantage of the season of adventure and try out any of these favorites!
- Anastasia State Park
What says summer more than a beach trip? With restrooms, showers, picnic tables and a playground, Anastasia State Park is perfect for kids of all ages. There’s even a seasonal lifeguard! Pack up some lunch and sunscreen, and spend a sunny afternoon here.
- Potter’s Wax Museum
Potter’s Wax Museum is America’s first wax museum! Here, you can view 145 different figures, from Hollywood stars to local legends. Kids will love to take selfies with famous actors, and it’s even an opportunity to sneak in some education by visiting the historical figures!
- Marineland
Who doesn’t love dolphins? At Marineland, you can get your dolphin fix. Visit just to watch them splash and play, or take part in one of the many experiences offered. Older kids will love the trainer-for-a-day option, or the whole family can swim with the dolphins together. You could even paint with them!
- Scenic Cruise St. Augustine
A boat tour might not sound like something kids would enjoy, but you’d be surprised! It’s a chance to see historic St. Augustine through their eyes, and tell them stories and fun facts about the area. The boat has roomy tables and chairs, so bring some snacks to munch on. There’s even wine and beer on board for the grown-ups!
- Shearwater
Shearwater residents have plenty to do to keep the kids busy all summer long. The lazy river, three-story water slide and resort-style pool are like having a water park in your backyard! Not to mention the 15 miles of nature trails perfect for biking, parks that are ideal for meeting up with friends and a playfield for practicing favorite sports.
