Everyone will love a float around Lazy Bird River, the longest lazy river in Northeast Florida. Or, get your heart pumping with an exhilarating trip down the three-story waterslide. It’s like having a waterpark in your backyard!
If swimming isn’t your thing, then there is still plenty for you to enjoy at the community. Take a stroll or go birdwatching along Shearwater’s 15 miles of nature trails and neighborhood parks. Your furry friend will love getting some exercise at the off-leash dog park, and you’ll love the state-of-the-art Fitness Lodge for your own exercise! You can even stretch and relax at the Yoga Lawn or flex your green thumb at the Community Garden. The possibilities are nearly endless!
Fun-Filled Community Events
When you vacation at a resort, one of the most exciting things are the daily activities you can participate in. You can experience that at Shearwater too, thanks to our year-round Lifestyle Director! Our Lifestyle Director plans regular events for residents to enjoy while getting to know one another. Right now, events follow recommended social distancing guidelines, and include things like food truck nights, virtual classes, driveway dance parties and themed activity kits!
A Convenient Location
Shearwater is conveniently located in St. Augustine, Florida, so if you take just a short drive, you’ll find tons of fun things to do! You can dine around the world at a variety of restaurants, or get takeout for an at-home experience. Kids are sure to be thrilled about a trip to the Museum of Science and History in Jacksonville, which is now open again Thursdays through Sundays. But there’s so much more to discover, from national parks to spooky ghost tours, that are all perfect activities for the whole family. Just make sure to check websites or call ahead before you visit, since many locations may have a limited experience or reduced hours right now. But that shouldn’t stop you from having a fun-filled staycation!
